Understanding Shrimp Counts
Count size means the approximate number of shrimp per pound: 16/20 means 16–20 shrimp, while 21/25 means 21–25. A lower count means a larger shrimp; U/12 means fewer than 12 per pound. Check the size and pack options above for current availability.
Choose Shell-On for Boils and Grilling
These shrimp have the heads removed and shells left on. They are a good choice for peel-and-eat boils, grilling, and broiling. For recipes that call for peeled shrimp, remove the shells and devein as needed before cooking. If you prefer to skip that preparation, choose our Peeled & Deveined Shrimp.
Plan Portions by Weight
Shell-on pack weight includes the shells, so it is not the same as peeled shrimp weight. For a shrimp-focused meal, a practical starting point is about 1/2 pound of headless, shell-on shrimp per adult, with more for hearty appetites and less when serving several other dishes. Shipping Your Shrimp
Orders ship in an insulated cooler with dry ice to addresses in the contiguous United States. Shipping days depend on your destination and transit time; orders outside the published shipping windows carry over to the following Monday.
